Water from the Nose

Drinking tap water isn’t as common in Italy and considered taboo at dining institutions but you can save money by filling up a bottle at the drinking fountains also known as “nasoni” or in English nose. Not to worry, this is spring water so it’s safe to drink and there are fountains placed throughout the cities of Italy. If you don’t have a bottle to fill, you can place your finger over the opening which creates a stream from the spout that you can drink straight from like the experts do.
