We were greeted at the bus stop by our host. A native of Positano with a Jewish grandmother. He was very friendly and knew everyone in town. We stayed in a room in his house. The house was situated at the top of the hill, away from the throngs of tourists near the beach. For the true Amalfi experience, you need to climb the 800 steps round trip, to and from the local market for your groceries. It was incredible to see people well into their 70’s making the trip up and down.
Latio Square is where all the residents of the neighborhood gather at the end of the school/work day. Kids play futbol while their parents and grandparents catch up and enjoy the view.
