Barcelona

We discovered the concept of a free walking tour while in Barcelona. The basic gist is a free guided tour of a city or section of a city from the perspective of a passionate volunteer. The guides aren’t quite volunteers as they do pay the bills from their tips, but you can give as little or as much as you see fit. We took two tours in Barcelona, the Gothic Quarter which gives a great summary of the city’s history and the Gaudi tour which visits and gives insight into the famous architect’s buildings. The one issue with the Gaudi tour is that you do not see the inside of any of his buildings as they are all private and sell tickets at inflated prices.
